YIBAILINGBABU (SUPARENPEI)

Another essential area of study embraced by Sanshangong is that of the mysterious
"One Hundred And Eight Steps"

Refered to by students of Okinawan/Japanese Gojuru Karate as "Suparenpei" (the "Master Kata", Yibailingbabu is of particular interest and focus within Sanshangong because of its relevance to ongoing research into the history and foundation of not only Gojuyru Karate but also Uechiryu Karate which claims that its own Suparenpei Kata was:

"Lost" or discarded by Master Uechi Kanbun in transit from Fuzhou.
Not actually taught to Master Uechi Kanbun (after whom Uechiryu Karate was named.
Not taught by Master Uechi Kanbun or his student(s) after Uechi Kanbun passed away.

Of late, it seems, a certain number of Shotokan (Karate) practitioners upon a global scale have also started to take an active interest in a long-lost and obscure Chinese form (kata) which they call "Hyakuhachiho" - a japanese rendering of Yibailingbabu.

Sanshangong teaches three Yibailingbabu forms within its syllabus.
